Victims would be pyrexic and comatose and would suffer from widespread synaptic degradation. Long-term memory, usually from the moment of the infection, would be destroyed.

-M-

Memory Virus - Parasitic organism that thrived on the peptides generated by its hosts brain. The virus is able to evade the bodys immune system by disguising itself as an engram. The parasite would create a false memory for its host that was so traumatic that the hosts mind would repress it. The memory virus would live, in person after person, hiding in a part of the brain that the conscious mind would want to avoid at all costs. When it sensed the death of its host, the virus would leave to find another. Thoron radiation is lethal to the Memory virus.

Transporter Psychosis - Rare medical disorder caused by a breakdown of the neurochemical molecules during transport. Symptoms include; paranoid delusions, multi-infarct dementia, tactile and visual hallucinations, and psyhchogenic hysteria. Peripherally; sleeplessness, accelerated heart rate, myopia, muscular spasms, and dehydration.

Transporter Shock - Rare phenomenon wherein a person experiences dizziness, headaches and disorientation after being transported, it quickly wears off and is usually the result to transporter malfunction.

Transwarp Evolutionary Syndrome - The side effect of traveling at transwarp speeds. For unknown reasons, the human body undergoes a metamorphosis as a result of being subjected to transwarp travel. Described as "genetic mutation, the body progresses through an evolutionary process at highly accelerated speeds. Organs mutate to new forms or functions, vestigial organs disappear, and new organs are generated. The syndrome also affects the emotional state of the victim, creating mood swings from normal lucidity to anger and paranoia. If the syndrome completely runs its course, the victim mutates completely into a salamander-like life form. The condition is treated with antiproton radiation therapy, which successfully reverses the effects and returns the patient to their human state.

Traumatic Stress Syndrome - Mental illness. Traumatic stress syndrome is a reaction to an extreme crisis and may cause symptoms of irritability, sleeplessness, obsessive thoughts, and reckless behavior.
